Here, you can apply 'Dark Mod' by clicking on 'On' button. Now you have to go to the Dark Mode appearance to select what you like in Dark Mode or Lights Out. There is an option for dim and lights out.
  • Lights out option is available for Android users along with IOS users. If this option is not visible in the menu, then update the Twitter app or open the section containing the apps in the phone's settings. After searching Twitter in the list here, tap on it and select Force Stop. After this, clear the app data and relaunch Twitter again. After this, you will see the option of lights out.

Dark mode on desktop

If you want to darken the background of Twitter on the desktop, then this option is also available here. For this, you have to go to the main menu of Twitter.

Here you will see the option of Settings and Privacy. When you tap on it, you will have to go to the display option in the journal on the left. Here you get the option to change the font size, colour and background. The background has options for default, dim and lights out. Here you can change the background according to your convenience.
